Ingredients
500 g sliced carrots
2 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
0.5 tsp powdered ginger
0.5 tsp Sriracha
Optional for serving:
sliced green onions
salt and pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat a large frying pan over medium heat and pour in the olive oil.
Cut the carrots into slices (either crinkle cut or regular slices are suitable).
Place the carrots in the hot pan and coat them with the olive oil.
Cover the pan with a lid and allow them to cook for a few minutes, then stir them again.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger, and Sriracha by whisking them together.
Drizzle the honey mixture over the carrots and mix them thoroughly in the sauce.
Step 3
Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for approximately 8-10 more minutes until the carrots are just tender enough to be pierced with a fork.
Take them off the heat, sprinkle with sliced green onions, and serve.
Tips & Tricks!
Cut consistently: Uniform carrot slices ensure even cooking and a more professional look.
Adjust sweetness: If you prefer a less sweet glaze, reduce the honey slightly and increase the rice vinegar.
Make it a meal: Serve these glazed carrots alongside steamed jasmine rice and grilled chicken or tofu for a complete meal.
